Semiconductor Fabrication & Characterization Training for Students from Tribal Community– reg.
We are pleased to inform you about an important initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The M/o Tribal affairs under the Central Sector Scheme: Tribal Research Information, Education, Communication and Events (TRI-ECE) has entrusted a significant project titled “Semiconductor Fabrication & Characterization Training for Students from Tribal Community” to the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru for the year 2023-24.
The project aims to deliver 2100 NSQF-certified level 6.0 & 6.5 training in Semiconductor Technology to tribal students over three years in collaboration with IISc Bangalore needed to match workforce skills with evolving job demands. Under the project, there is a provision of providing basic training to 1500 tribal students and advanced training to 600 tribal students.
The program offers two structured courses: Foundational and Advanced:
Sl.No. | Program Name | Delivery mode | Hours/ course | NQR code | NCrF/ NSQF Level | Qualifications of attendees |
1 | Foundation Program on Nano Science and Technology | Online | 60 | NG-06-EH-00197-2023-VI-ESSC | 6 | UG Engineering or MSc |
2 | Advanced Program Online in Nano Science and Technology | Online+Offline | 90 | NG-6.5-EH-00198-2023-VI-ESSC | 6.5 | UG Engineering or MSC + Pass the foundational program |
In light of this, we request your institution to ensure maximum participation and enrollment of eligible tribal students who could benefit from this unique training opportunity. It is designed to equip tribal students with critical knowledge and practical skills in semiconductor fabrication and characterization, thereby enhancing their employability in the high-tech sector.
